ASTA - Académie Supérieure du Théâtre et des Arts, founded in 2016 in Angers, is a school dedicated to training multidisciplinary actors and artists. It offers two professionalizing courses: Theater and Musical Comedy, combining acting, singing, dance and scenic expression. With locations in Angers and Toulouse, ASTA prepares future performing artists to enter the worlds of live performance, audiovisual and contemporary dramatic arts.
"Enrolling in an art school means setting out to discover the artist you hope to become. The core of our program revolves around knowledge-sharing and curiosity. At ASTA, all of our instructors are practicing artists. We focus our students’ learning on exploring diverse styles and aesthetics, on being open to new encounters, and on deepening their skills in acting, singing, and dance. ASTA’s teaching methodology is also grounded in practical experience. The productions and stage directions developed throughout the program culminate in a performance for an audience under conditions similar to those encountered in professional life. As a result, students graduating from ASTA are able to approach their artistic lives with clarity, equipped with the skills needed to “dream concretely.” ASTA champions a vibrant, open school that is fully engaged with the realities of the profession. An art school should not only prepare artists for the world as it is, but also give them the means to imagine what it could become."
