MAI inaugurates its renovated premises
The Music Academy International (MAI), a leading training center for contemporary and electronic music and performing arts technology, has just inaugurated its completely renovated premises in Nancy. Located just a stone's throw from Place Stanislas, the school is turning a new page in its history by offering its students a modernized setting that is better suited to the demands of contemporary music practices and the needs of artists in training.
Now covering 1,000 m² of redesigned space, MAI welcomes its students to an enriched environment:
- around fifteen classrooms,
- a recording studio,
- a fully equipped concert hall,
- functional work cubicles,
- and an on-site cafeteria.
These architectural changes are accompanied by the launch of a new educational program, introduced at the start of the 2025 academic year. Designed to adapt to the needs of each profile—beginners, those changing careers, or those already engaged in professional life—the courses adopt flexible and innovative formats: long courses, specialized modules, short thematic internships, and personalized support systems. The goal is clear: to enhance the artistic identity of each learner and provide them with a solid framework for building a sustainable career path.
The school also emphasizesprofessional integration, reinforcing a culture of teamwork, active learning, and proximity to the realities of the sector. At the start of the 2025 academic year, MAI welcomed more than 100 students in intensive courses, supervised by around 30 trainers from the music industry.
As a member of the Archipel des Sons collective, MAI also benefits from a national network dedicated to careers in contemporary music and live performance, promoting educational synergies, collaborations, and innovation within the group's institutions.
"This new space will play a key role in supporting the artists and technicians of tomorrow, taking into account the diversity of professional practices and the evolution of careers in the sector," explains Mélody Justo, director of the MAI.
The inauguration of these new premises marks an essential step in the development of MAI, which continues to assert its place among the most influential training centers in France in contemporary music, electronic music, and the performing arts.
