Launch of L'archipel des sons: an EMERGING PROJECT for the music professions
Schools of Arts supports the creation of Archipel des Sons, a collective dedicated to contemporary music
In 2025, Schools of Arts is supporting the birth of a new project in the music training landscape: l'Archipel des Sons, a collective of five training centers specializing in contemporary music, electronic music, CAD and technical skills for the performing arts.
A collective of five schools rooted in the realities of the field
L'Archipel des Sons brings together five member structures of the Schools of Arts network, renowned for their local roots, their pedagogical standards and their proximity to professional realities:
- ATLA in Paris
- CIAM in Bordeaux
- EF2M in Tourcoing
- GRIM Edif in Lyon
- MAY in Nancy
These schools share the same vision: to push back the traditional models of transmission, and offer learning formats that are in step with developments in the music industry.
A new way to train performing artists and technicians
Conceived as a living educational laboratory, Archipel des Sons is based on shared founding principles:
- Project-based teaching, focused on real-life practice
- Modular training to suit individual needs
- Support towards employment integrated right from the training stage
- A community of players active in the music industry
More than training centers, these schools are also places where creation, experimentation, technique and production intersect. L'Archipel acts as a living network, a catalyst for links between learners, trainers and professionals.
A project supported by Schools of Arts
Schools of Arts is proud to support this collective, which was born within its network, and to support its structuring. L'Archipel des Sons embodies a shared desire to promote a diversity of career paths, encourage innovative teaching methods and prepare tomorrow's talent for a rapidly changing industry.
