This summer, the School of Arts crossed the English Channel.

We are very pleased to announce that WaterBear, The College of Music—a renowned college of contemporary music with campuses in Brighton and Sheffield—has joined the School of Arts group!

This is the School of Arts' first international acquisition. It is no coincidence.

Since its founding, WaterBear has been training musicians and music industry professionals based on a belief that we fully share: an artist is not trained solely in the classroom, but on stage, in the studio, through interaction with professionals, and within small, intimate cohorts where artistic expression takes precedence over academic theory. WaterBear’s programs, offered in partnership with Falmouth University, combine academic rigor with the realities of the profession.

This is precisely the educational program we are implementing in our schools in France and Belgium, ranging from the performing arts to the visual arts and contemporary music.

WaterBear retains its name, its spirit, its identity, and its educational approach. What lies ahead is what we will build together: exchange programs between campuses and semesters in England for our French art students, collaborative art projects, new degree programs, and new locations to open in the United Kingdom.

Thank you to Adam Bushell, Bruce Dickinson, Victoria Collis, and the entire WaterBear team for the quality of our discussions.

Welcome to the School of Arts, WaterBear.
