A Graphite Pencil award in London for our two students from AGR Nantes!
Ambroise Jeanneau and Maël Raineau, students in the Master’s program in Multimedia Art Direction at AGR – l’École de l’image in Nantes, received a Graphite Pencil last Thursday in London at the 2026 D&AD New Blood Awards!
Founded in 1962, D&AD is a global leader in design and advertising. As part of the New Blood Awards, students from around the world work on real briefs from international brands. In 2025, participants from 86 countries competed, and 65% of that year’s winners are now working in the creative industry. The awards most often go to schools in the English-speaking world, while French schools are rarely represented.
The Nantes-based duo worked on the CANAL+ brief, proposed by the BETC agency. Their project, “New Generation, New Vision,” reimagines the app as a platform for vertical-format micro-dramas created by up-and-coming creators discovered on social media, featuring numerous community-focused features. Their idea: to connect with younger audiences, CANAL+ needs to put them in the driver’s seat.
The award also recognizes the guidance provided by their instructors, Mickael Chiron and Nicolas Martin. It underscores the quality of a school that, for more than thirty years in Nantes, has had its students work on real-world projects in direct collaboration with industry professionals.
“This recognition honors the work of our students and the dedication of our faculty. Today, we can compete with the best schools in the world,” said Margot Couet, director of the AGR.
The project is featured in the D&AD Annual, which is consulted by agencies and creative departments around the world. It is already available on the D&AD website.
